Overview

Duskaran emerged over eight centuries from the linguistic necessity of survival. When the Stellar Horizon's crew—drawn primarily from African and Asian populations—crashed on this tidally locked world, their diverse languages faced immediate pressure to merge. The result is a hybrid creole that prioritizes clarity, efficiency, and adaptability.

The language reflects its speakers' priorities: water, wind, survival, and community. Its phonology accommodates communication during storms, its vocabulary encodes practical knowledge, and its structure allows rapid information exchange in life-threatening situations.
